New Glarus School Board Renews Boys Soccer Co-op

The New Glarus School Board unanimously approved another two years for the Belleville/New Glarus boys soccer co-op Monday, Sept. 14, continuing a partnership that has operated since 1995 and allows the two schools to maintain varsity and junior varsity teams.

New Glarus currently supplies most of the players in the program. Agenda materials showed 29 New Glarus players and eight from Belleville this school year, with 26 New Glarus players and eight Belleville players projected for 2027-28.

Administrators noted Monday that participation has shifted back and forth between the two communities over the years and said that fluctuation is one reason the cooperative arrangement has worked.

Board members were told the renewal is routine and required every two years. The board approved the agreement 7-0 without extended discussion.
