New Glarus School Board to Review Budget, Senior Survey
Budget figures, senior survey results and several routine school items are on the agenda when the New Glarus School Board meets Monday, including a preliminary levy that projects a higher total levy but nearly flat overall mill rate.
The New Glarus School Board will meet at 7:15 p.m. Monday, July 13, in the high school library/media center, Room 183, for its regular monthly meeting.
The agenda includes a mix of budget items, student survey results and routine annual reports, with the most notable discussion likely coming around the district’s preliminary 2026-27 budget and tax levy.
According to the agenda packet, the board is scheduled to consider 2025-26 budget adjustments, the preliminary 2026-27 budget and a preliminary 2026-27 tax levy. The levy information included in the packet projects the total school-based tax levy increasing from $9.05 million in 2025-26 to $9.46 million in 2026-27, a 4.48% increase. However, the total school-based mill rate is projected to remain nearly flat at about $9.72 per $1,000 of equalized value, due in part to projected growth in the district’s equalized value.
