New Glarus Woods Plans 30 Electric Campsites
A future expansion at New Glarus Woods State Park would add about 30 electric campsites, a fill and dump station, and a shower building, restoring modern camping options not available locally since the Town Edge RV park closed years ago.
New Glarus Woods State Park could eventually undergo a major campground expansion that would add approximately 30 electric campsites and modern amenities for recreational vehicles and other campers.
The project remains part of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ future plans for the park, but no funding, construction schedule or cost estimate has yet been established.
“We have it in our future plans to expand camping at New Glarus Woods State Park, but there is no set funding or set dates to complete this project at this time,” said Melissa Burns, park manager for New Glarus Woods State Park and the Sugar River State Trail.
Burns said the new campground would be constructed south of County Highway NN.
