The New Glarus Fire Department has received a $10,000 grant from Only in Wisconsin Giving that will help purchase new equipment for the department’s next fire engine, which is expected to arrive next week.

The grant will be used for a new battery-powered ventilation fan, battery-powered chainsaw and several other tools that will be carried on the engine, according to the department.

The department thanked Only in Wisconsin Giving for the grant while also teasing more information about the new engine once it arrives.

The $10,000 donation was presented Aug. 13. A ceremonial check identifies the grant specifically for “fan and equipment purchase.”
