Prairie Haus Phase II has secured its financing and could begin construction as early as September, according to Wisconsin Housing Preservation Corp. President Mike Slavish.

The proposed $11 million development has already received the necessary conditional use permit and site plan approval from the New Glarus Plan Commission. WHPC is now waiting for state approval of its construction plans while completing final value engineering and firming up the project’s pricing before receiving its building permit.

“We are no longer securing or trying to get financing,” Slavish said. “That’s in place.”

Slavish said WHPC hoped construction would start in September.

“All we’re really doing now is waiting on our state-approved plans and just some final value engineering on the building itself,” Slavish said. “Other than that, that’s really all we’re waiting on.”
