Rain Totals Vary Across Southern Wisconsin
New Glarus picked up 0.19 inches of rain over the previous 24 hours, while heavier totals fell to the east and southeast. More shower and thunderstorm chances return Tuesday, with unsettled weather possible through the weekend ahead.
New Glarus received 0.19 inches of rain during the 24-hour period ending Sunday evening, bringing the community’s August precipitation total to 2.35 inches.
Rainfall varied considerably across southern Wisconsin. Janesville recorded the heaviest total among the locations tracked, with 0.78 inches, followed by Belleville at 0.42 inches and Evansville at 0.33 inches. Mount Horeb reported no measurable rain during the same period.
The difference is also showing up in August totals. Janesville has received 5.11 inches so far this month, while Evansville stands at 4.75 inches and Belleville at 4.07 inches. New Glarus remains considerably lower at 2.35 inches, according to Precip.com.
