Town Board Moves Forward with Business After Resignation

Chris Narveson resigned Wednesday as chair of the Town of New Glarus, saying circumstances had made it increasingly difficult for him to continue serving effectively in the position.

Supervisor Matt Streiff read Narveson’s resignation letter at the beginning of the Town Board’s Sept. 9 meeting. Narveson wrote that the decision was not made lightly and said he believed he could continue contributing to the community in other ways.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our community,” Narveson wrote. “Thank you for the trust placed in me and for the opportunity to serve.”

The board appointed Streiff to serve as acting chair for Wednesday’s meeting. Approximately 24 residents attended the meeting, in addition to town officials and employees.
