The Town of New Glarus Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing Wednesday, Aug. 12, to consider a proposed land division along Farmers Grove Road southwest of the village.

The hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the New Glarus Town Garage, N8799 Hayes Lane. The application was submitted by the Halvorsen J. Donald and Susan Revocable Trust and involves property at W6897 Farmers Grove Road.

The proposal would create one approximately 4.36-acre lot from a larger parcel. The property includes a former quarry and would continue to be accessed from Farmers Grove Road, according to the certified survey map and a review prepared for the Town Plan Commission.

No home or residential building site is proposed as part of the division. Town planning documents recommend that the newly created lot be maintained as open space and that residential structures, garages and most storage buildings be prohibited. Buildings considered necessary to maintain the property as open space could still be allowed.
