The Town of New Glarus held two meetings Wednesday evening, beginning with a 5:30 p.m. public hearing on a proposed Farmers Grove Road land division before moving into a lengthy regular Town Board meeting that began shortly after 6 p.m. at the new town garage.

The first meeting concerned an application from the Halvorsen J Donald and Susan Revocable Trust to create one non-residential lot for non-residential use along W6897 Farmers Grove Road. The public notice allowed the applicant or an agent to explain the proposal and residents to offer comments before the Town Board discussed the matter.

The approximately 4.36-acre parcel includes a former quarry, according to planning documents previously reviewed by the town. The proposal does not include residential building rights, and planning materials called for the property to remain open space with a deed restriction prohibiting residential structures. As it was a public hearing, no public action is taken.
