Town of York Approves Lease for Replacement Tractor

Town officials approved a three-year lease for a new Massey Ferguson tractor after discussing the repair history and trade-in value of the town’s 2016 New Holland tractor, along with the costs, warranty and advantages of leasing rather than purchasing a replacement.

The Town of York Board approved a 36-month lease for a replacement tractor during a nine-minute special meeting held Thursday, July 30.

The town will lease a 2026 Massey Ferguson tractor, with two annual payments of $10,337.47 beginning in 2027.

Before voting, board members discussed the trade-in value of the town’s 2016 New Holland tractor, the cost of past and ongoing repairs, the differences between purchasing and leasing a replacement and the warranty included with the new tractor.

First Supervisor Travis Leonard made the motion to approve the lease, which was seconded by Second Supervisor Aaron Gifford. The motion carried.
