WisDOT Plans 2031 Highway 69 Work North of New Glarus
After months of speculation about what would come next after work began on the Highway 69 project to Cow Path Lane, WisDOT has released early design details for a future job north of New Glarus, with construction anticipated in 2031.
The next phase of Highway 69 work north of New Glarus is no longer just a matter of conjecture. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has released early design details for a future project that would begin where the current construction project is expected to end, at Cow Path Lane, and continue north to the Dane County line.
According to WisDOT, the future project is now in the design phase and would cover Highway 69 from Cow Path Lane to the Dane County line, with construction anticipated in 2031. The timeline means the work is not an immediate continuation of the current project, but it does confirm the state’s long-term plans for the corridor north of New Glarus.
WisDOT says the pavement on that section of Highway 69 is deteriorating and has extensive cracking. But the proposed work goes beyond a simple resurfacing project.
